While coming together, the founders saw an opportunity for an entity like Kaarak to provide high quality professional services in order to make a meaningful contribution in the development sector.
We registered ourselves as a for profit organisation around the core idea of 'fair profits' and that the service delivery approach can play a significant role in answering some of the long standing development challenges.
Being headquartered in Delhi, we decided to take up both conventional as well as unconventional roles, i.e. advisory as well as hands on implementation respectively.
Initially, we formed our service products around livelihoods and enterprise development, however, being an entrepreneurial set up, diversified to other disciplines as per our strengths and available opportunities.
The desire to experiment with the new ideas led to a number of independent initiatives, some of which worked while some did not. However, all of them helped us in developing as a learning organization.
Over the years, we have ventured, successfully, into providing advisory services at strategy and policy level. Project management, program design and development, research, programme evaluations, now constitute our expanding list of services and expertise.
